Thousands Awarded to Local Students

The Woman’s Club of Danbury/New Fairfield (WCDNF) recently awarded $14,000 in scholarships to several area high school seniors. Nine students received $1,500 each, with one student receiving $500 for outstanding volunteerism.

Rameezah Ahmed, Denise Rodas and Ashley Schlemmer were selected from Danbury High School. The Alternative Center for Excellence winner was Alexandra Jarama. Erik Dighton won from New Fairfield High School. Mackenzy Garden was the winner from Immaculate High School. Juliana Chetcuti and Anna Martinez were selected from Henry Abbott Technical School. Julia Bauer won from Wooster School. The Volunteerism Award was given to Victoria McFarlin from Immaculate High School.
