Off-Track Betting On Hold In Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Off-track betting operator Sportstech withdrew its application for a facility in Danbury. The company is negotiating its sale and put the brakes on its current negotiations, including Danbury.

The company pitched off-track betting at Two Steps Downtown Grille, according to the News-Times.

Sportstech may or may not pick up the project depending on the new owner, said Mayor Mark Boughton.

The proposal for off-track betting causes some debate over whether it would bring an undesirable element to the city.
