Danbury Man Accused Of Driving 160 MPH On Interstate: Report

New Hampshire troopers​ arrested a Danbury man​ Sunday who is accused of driving over 160 mph​ on a highway with a 70 mph legal limit.

DANBURY, CT — New Hampshire troopers arrested a Danbury man Sunday for driving 161 mph on a highway with a 70 mph legal limit, according to WTNH.

Alejandro Zapata-Rebello, 30, was travelling too fast to pursue when spotted by troopers patrolling Interstate 93 North just after 11 a.m. in Ashland, NH, according to the report. The troopers placed Zapata-Rebello's 2021 Chevrolet Corvette on a Be On the Lookout Order.

Officers from the Woodstock Police Department stopped the car when it became stuck in traffic, and detained it until troopers could arrive. The state charged Zapata-Rebello with two counts of reckless driving and one count of disobeying an officer; Woodstock police charged him with reckless driving, according to WTNH.

Zapata-Rebello was released on a summons to appear in court on Sept. 22.
