Two Dozen Danbury Businesses Close Thursday to Support Immigrants: Report
The businesses are closing as part of a nationwide protest.

DANBURY, CT — In accordance with a nationwide protest, two dozen businesses in Danbury will shutter their doors Thursday in support of the importance of immigrants to the U.S. Economy, reports the News Times.
The report indicates a flyer circulated throughout the city this week naming 24 latino-owned businesses that have closed their doors in support of those who fear deportation under the Trump administration. The group is asking people not to shop Thursday, and not to send their kids to school if possible.
The report further indicates the strike will only last one day, and stems from a campaign that spread throughout social media and Spanish-language TV.
