A ceremony will take place on April 6th at 10:00am in front of the Danbury City Hall to honor the military service of two Danbury WWII veterans. The Danbury Veterans Affairs Office sponsored two hometown heroes banners and will install them at the entrance to the city hall.

John Edmond served as a Machinist’s Mate Second Class with the US Navy and Andrew Pirone served as a Petty Officer Third Class with the US Navy. Pirone also served during the Korean Conflict.

The hometown heroes banner program recognizes active duty and veteran service members who have been honorably discharged, both living and deceased.
