UConn Sweet 16 Watch Party Planned At Danbury Brewery

DANBURY, CT — A Danbury brewery is planning a watch party Friday as the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams head into the Sweet 16.

Elicit Brewing Company on Backus Avenue will host fans for both games, according to event organizers.

The UConn women’s team is scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s team at 9:45 p.m. in a doubleheader matchup.

Organizers said the venue will feature large screens, themed drinks and a fan-focused atmosphere for the games.

At another Elicit location near UConn’s campus in Manchester, a life-size inflatable Jonathan the Husky and a themed “Bleed Blue” cocktail are planned as part of the celebration.

Additional watch parties are also planned at Elicit Brewing locations in Fairfield and Manchester, as well as Eli’s on Whitney in Hamden and Eli’s Branford, organizers said.
