Under New Ownership, Danbury Ice Arena Promises Pro Hockey Team

The arena was once home to the Federal Hockey League's Danbury Whalers, and Danbury Titans

DANBURY, CT — The new owner of the Danbury Ice Arena has plans to bring professional hockey, and more, back to Hat City, the News-Times is reporting.

Diamond Properties, which owns Bow Tie Cinemas in Hartford and a portfolio of 60 properties that range from warehouses to retail centers, has promised significant upgrades to the 96,000-square-foot ice arena.

The renovations are set to include an upgraded kitchen, a virtual arcade, and entertainment attractions, although the main focus will still be hockey.
