WCSU Sets Summer Events Schedule
Comedy, Cars, Ballet and Meditation are all on tap.

JUNE 1 & 2 ART AT IVES JURIED FINE ART AND CRAFTS SHOW: The nonprofit Friends of the Ives will present the fourth annual Art at Ives, Juried Fine Art & Crafts Show from 1 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Ives Concert Park on the WCSU Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. This two-day event will feature a wide variety of high-quality original works and a diverse scope of art forms representing every major category. Food and live music featuring flutist Sherry Winston, along with art classes, demonstrations and children’s events, also will be included. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com. JUNE 11 MUDRA MEDITATION SERIES: The Institute for Holistic Health Studies at WCSU will host the Mudra Meditation series at 7 p.m. in Room 103 of Warner Hall on the Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. JUNE 15 CLEP TESTING: The WCSU Testing Center will host a College Level Examination Program (CLEP) test at 9 a.m. in the Computer Lab (Room 117) in the Classroom Building on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. JUNE 18 - JULY 6– NEW YORK M.F.A. THESIS EXHIBITION: The Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition, featuring works by 2019 graduates from the WCSU Master of Fine Arts painting and illustration program, will be on display from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday on the fourth floor of the Blue Mountain Gallery, 530 W. 25th St. in New York City. Also featured will be Doug Allen and food trucks. The event is a celebration of Jesse Lewis’ birthday with net proceeds benefitting the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement. JULY 17–19 WCSU SUMMER ARTS INTENSIVE: The WCSU School of Visual and Performing Arts will host a three-day high school summer arts intensive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Wednesday, July 17, through Friday, July 19, in the Visual & Performing Arts Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. World class, award-winning professionals in Music, Musical Theatre and Visual Art will conduct three separate art intensives for students entering grades 9-12 in Fall 2019.
