WestConn Raises Six Figures In One Day During Giving Event
The university's annual Day of Giving surpassed its fundraising goal with thousands of donors contributing in 24 hours.
DANBURY, CT — Western Connecticut State University raised more than $405,000 in a single day during its annual Wolves Day of Giving, according to university officials.
The 24-hour fundraising event, held Feb. 26, brought in $405,511 from 2,273 donors, surpassing its goal for the third annual campaign.
The university said the donations will directly support students through scholarships, upgraded equipment, academic programs and hands-on training opportunities.

Support came from a range of contributors, including faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members.
Several corporate sponsors backed the event, including Ives Bank, Mulvaney Mechanical and NY-CONN Corp.

Among campus groups, WestConn Athletics received the largest share of donations, raising $230,718 from 1,806 donors.
In total, 14 campus departments, programs and organizations benefited from the fundraiser.
