Why I Am Voting For Michelle Coelho
We Need Change in Hartford. Let Me Tell You Why Michelle is Who We Need.

Here we are, the season of pumpkins and politics. So often during this time we find ourselves having to make big decisions about our political future. For some not much thought goes into their vote. It’s just a reflex of pulling a lever (so to speak) just because we have always pulled the same lever. It doesn’t really matter who is getting our vote as long as they wear the proper political designation. I’ll be honest for many a season, I fell into that same category. Although I always followed politics and made sure I was up on all of the issues, I also assumed that what someone said, is what they meant. So after much disappointment from politicians’ empty promises, self promotion and our great city in decline, I decided I needed to stop complaining and get involved at the local level…. see how the sausage was made so to speak.
My husband and I went to a local town committee meeting and met some very like-minded people. Concerned citizens who wanted what was best for our city, our children’s education and future. We met some really great people at that meeting and became fast friends with some. One woman really stood out to me. She was very passionate about our schools and wanted more for our kids. This was something that really mattered to her. We kept going to these meetings and found out more and more about the sausage making. This is what set her on her path to make a difference. The lack of true representation in Hartford has had a devastating impact on our district. Danbury schools have been severely impacted and affordability is slipping away. Our current representation in Hartford is responsible for what ails us. They do not see or feel the plight of their constituents. They never deviate from party lines and vote in lockstep with the party elites. It’s like they forgot why they are up there and for whom.
This woman needed to know more and had to try to make a difference. She ran for the Board of Education and has served us well for 4 years. In that time she uncovered so much more and wants to bring her passion to do what is right for the 24th district to Hartford. She has seen firsthand how the political machine works and how the people are over looked. She knows better than most what can happen when a government decides what is best for the people. Her parent’s fled communist Cuba and came to the United States for a better life. She values her freedoms and respects those who sacrificed so much to afford us those freedoms.

Michelle Coelho is that woman with a mission. She isn’t just talking the talk. She finds purpose in connecting with her community and striving to do what it takes to make our communities affordable and safe. Her focus has been on our education system and wanting to make it the best it can be to serve our children and our future. She has demonstrated her unwavering dedication to our children’s futures for the last four years and has stepped up to bring that passion for the people to Hartford to make our communities stronger in every way possible.
Michelle is not, nor will she ever be a politician. She proudly wears many badges, like wife, mother, daughter, business owner, community advocate and for me dear friend. I have such faith in Michelle. If she is given the opportunity to represent the 24th district, we will all be the beneficiaries of her on a mission to represent all of us.
