Man Charged With Strangling, Beating Woman in Danbury: Report

The woman told police she had picked the man up at a local restaurant after he had fallen asleep at the bar.

DANBURY, CT — A Newtown man was charged with strangling and attacking a woman who picked him up from a restaurant in the city early Sunday morning, reports the News Times.

The victim told police that Mario Guaman, 37, had argued with her about who would drive, pulled her out of the car and slammed her head against it. She also said Guaman strangled and punched her.

Police say that the victim was bleeding and her pants were ripped. The victim told police that she had picked Guaman up from the El Milenio Restaurant after he had fallen asleep at the bar.
