Woman's Club of Danbury/N.Fairfield (WCDNF) Joins the Jericho Partnership Program to Serve the Community
The Community Impact Program of WCDNF worked with the Jericho Partnership Team to meet the needs of families and students in our community.
The Jericho Partnership is a community program that serves families experiencing food insecurity and students from under served backgrounds who often experience food insecurity on weekends when school meals are unavailable. The Community Impact Program (CIP) of the Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield (WCDNF) worked this past club year with its members to support the Jericho Partnership Program in order to serve the needs of these families and students in our community.
WCDNF members' monetary donations during the year in the amount of $700 provided funds to purchase items for "Weekend Bags". Many students rely on this program to supplement their meals when school is not in session. During the course of the club year, members also contributed $1,340 in household and hygiene products for the Rogers Park Middle School Meal Train. In addition, club members gave personal time making Thanksgiving and Weekend Lunch Bags for distribution to families. A contribution of $250 was donated by the CIP in support of the Jericho Partnership Annual Breakfast.
The Community Impact Program and members of WCDNF recognize the ongoing need of these families and their children in our community and look forward to its continued support of this important cause.
