Woman's Club of Danbury/N.Fairfield (WCDNF) Joins Laundry Love in its Mission
Members of WCDNF donated to support Laundry Love's cause of love and dignity with handmade laundry bags and donations.
Laundry Love is a nation-wide nonprofit organization that provides members of the community the feeling of love and dignity through clean clothes and laundry. This program operates in more than 300 locations throughout the U.S. It provides laundry cards that pay for the cleaning of clothing and personal items at local laundromats.
The Health and Wellness Committee of WCDNF has supported Laundry Love of Greater Danbury by raising funds for laundry cards. Under the leadership of the Committee chair, Geri Hopper, efforts have focused on collecting donations and organizing volunteer activities.
Geri arranged for Carol Bigman, Vice Chair of Laundry Love of Greater Danbury, to meet with the Committee and provide insights into the organization's mission and needs. To address this need, Suzi Ford, a WCDNF member, volunteered to lead a project creating twenty handmade bags for Laundry Love patrons. This enables patrons to transport their laundry with dignity rather than relying on garbage bags.
