On Tuesday, April 25, the Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield held its annual "Celebration of Giving". This year, twenty-six non-profit organizations were awarded grants totaling $13,500. Members of the Woman's Club donated the money as part of their annual philanthropic giving program. Each organization was sponsored by a club member and then the charity submitted an application in which they requested funding for a specific need. The organizations receiving grants were: The Danbury Music Center, The Jane Goodall Center at WCSU, The Community Culinary School of New Milford, The Danbury Grassroots Academy, Interfaith Early Learning Center, Literacy Volunteers on the Green, Long Ridge Library, New Fairfield Public Library, The Regional YMCA, Ann's Place, Midwestern Council of Alcoholism, Regional Hospice of Western CT, WeCAHR, Wheels of New Milford, Association of Religious Communities (ARC), Danbury Hospital Foundation (Pediatrics), The Danbury Museum and Historical Society, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Jericho Partnership, Laundry Love, Literacy Volunteers of America, Renewal House, TBICO (The Bridge to Independence and Career Opportunities), VITA, and the Women's Center of Greater Danbury. Members of the Woman's Club are proud to contribute to these vital agencies that support and enrich our community.
