Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield (WCDNF) Introduces Little Lending Library to Area Pre-Schools

WCDNF supporting the value of reading in children's lives donated a Little Lending Library to a Danbury pre-school and the idea grew.

In 2019, the WCDNF sponsored the donation of a Little Lending Library to the Interfaith Learning Center (ILC) in Danbury. The goal was to enhance the children's reading experience allowing them to bring books home and share with their family.

The husband of one of the members of WCDNF, John Jabeski volunteered to build the library. Over the next several months, John brought his skill, experience, and craftsmanship to create a Library that would attract and serve the children. The Library remains an active part in the school's program thanks to the ongoing support of the members of WCDNF who periodically donate books for its use.

The Lending Library for I.L.C. was the first in the area and was used as a prototype for others that were made. Currently, all area preschool readiness programs are enhanced by their own Little Lending Library. Our thanks to John's good will and the ongoing support of WCDNF and others like them.
