Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield (WCDNF) and Local Boy Scouts Honor Arbor Day

The Still River area in Danbury was cleaned by members of WCDNF and Boy Scouts from Danbury and Brookfield.

On Saturday, April 25, members of the Environmental Committee from the Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield joined members of Scout Troop 135 of Brookfield and Cub Scout Packs 135 and 52 of Danbury to help clean up an area near the Still River in Danbury. They were joined by Ed Siergiej of the Still River Alliance Commission. Together, 32 volunteers in all, collected six large bags of trash from the area behind the AMC Theater and Lowes that border the Still River as well as the Trailhead for the City of Danbury to collect.

This activity celebrated this year's Arbor Day, April 24. The work of these volunteers brings to our attention the ongoing need to care for our environment. We are grateful to these volunteers -our neighbors, and we thank them for helping to keep our world cleaner and safer.
