Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield (WCDNF) Supports Local Charities

WCDNF celebrated its annual giving ceremony at the Amber Room in Danbury. This year, twenty-seven local charities were honored.

On April 28, the Women's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield donated $15,000.00 to local non-profit organizations at its annual "Celebration of Giving". The club raises the money to award these grants by selling poinsettias each year. "Caring, Sharing, Giving" is the club's motto since its inception in 1982. By recognizing these non-profit organizations and awarding these charity grants, they are able to continue their philanthropic work and serve our community.

The local organizations that were awarded grant money are: Danbury Concert Association, Richter Park Arts Program, Master Gardener Demonstration Program, Danbury Grassroots Academy, Green Chimneys, Literacy Volunteers on the Green, New Fairfield Public Library, Long Ridge Library, Regional YMCA, Ann's Place, Regional Hospice of Western CT, Rogers Park Middle School Meal Train, WHEELS of New Milford, Amos House, American Parkinson Disease Assoc., Association of Religious Communities (ARC), Daily Bread Food Pantry, Danbury Hospital Pediatrics, Danbury Museum and Historical Society, Danbury Westerners Baseball Club, Dorothy Day Hospitality House, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Jericho Partnership, Laundry Love, New Fairfield Community Center, Renewal House, The Center for Empowerment and Education.

We thank these worthy organizations that work every day to make our communities safer and better places to live.
