15 Vehicles Burglarized in Darien

Some rather strange items were reported stolen.

DARIEN, CT—Apparently a thirsty thief or thieves have struck Darien.

More than a dozen vehicles were broken into in the overnight hours between Aug. 17 and 18 and some odd items were reported stolen.

Among some items reported stolen were two $10 pairs of sunglasses, four cases of bottled water, a radio face plate that is useless without an accompanying receiver, a gym bag, cellphone charger, $20, a $100 iPod and a brand new $150 wallet.

Vehicles were broken into on Bailey Avenue, Robin Hood Lane, Stonybrook Road South and Rokaton Road. All the vehicles were unlocked.

Someone who burglarized a vehicle on Bailey Avenue used a garage door open to gain access to a garage, police said. Nothing was taken from the garage.
