1997 Darien DUI Arrest Comes Back To Bite Stamford Man: Police
The suspect originally was arrested by Darien police on Hecker Avenue more than 20 years ago.

DARIEN, CT — A 1997 DUI arrest in Darien tripped up a 47-year-old Stamford man last week after his new arrest on a second-degree failure to appear warrant, according to Darien police.
Martin E. Ramirez, of Rose Park Avenue, was originally arrested on the driving under the influence charge on March 20, 1997. The original arrest occurred on Hecker Avenue.

On July 31 of this year, Ramirez was taken into custody by Greenwich police which learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The circumstances surrounding Ramirez's apprehension by Greenwich cops was not disclosed.
The Greenwich department turned Ramirez over to Darien police, which held Ramirez in lieu of bail of $500. He was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 1.
