2 Cars Reported Stolen In Darien Just Before Winter Storm: Police
Police responded to two reports of stolen vehicles hours before a major winter storm barreled through the region.
DARIEN, CT — Two cars were reported stolen from Darien just hours before a major winter storm barreled through the region over the weekend.
On Sunday, Jan. 25 at approximately 7:18 a.m., Darien police responded to a home on Park Place for a report of a stolen vehicle.
The victim reported that an unlocked 2020 Audi A3 was taken from the driveway sometime around 3:53 a.m., police said, noting the keys were left inside.

"Home security footage from a nearby residence captured the vehicle reversing from the driveway before a passenger exited and ran toward the property," police said in a crime summary update this week.
Also on Jan. 25, police responded to a home on Mansfield Avenue at approximately 9:17 a.m. on another report of a stolen vehicle.

The victim there reported his 2014 Nissan Pathfinder was taken from his driveway between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside.
Police have continuously reminded residents to lock their car doors and take their keys and belongings with them.
