2 Members Of Darien Police Force Attend FBI Conference

Darien Police Department: The Darien Police Department is proud to announce that Police Captain Don Anderson and Lt. Robert Shreders recently attended the FBI National Academy Training Conference held July 20-23 in Phoenix, AZ. This Conference, open to command level law enforcement officials who have attended the FBI NA in Quantico, VA., is recognized as the premier executive law enforcement annual training conference in the country. Attendees are afforded training and instruction from highly regarded “best practice” experts in the law enforcement and public safety fields from both the United States and abroad.

Among the topics covered in the 40-50 available training sessions were:
- Responding to/planning for active shooter incidents, including lessons learned from
recent incidents across the country.
- Officer wellness and employee retention.
- Law enforcement technology in the 21st century.
- FBI/local police partnerships.
- Drones/UAVs and the future uses in law enforcement.
- Under 100; law enforcement’s collective effort to reduce the annual incidents of line of duty deaths nationwide.
- Police executive and municipal liability risk management.
- National/International terrorism concerns/updates.
- Combatting Internet and online scams.
- Human Trafficking at the local level.

Police Capt.
