2 Men Accused Of Robbing Woman Outside Darien Whole Foods: Police
Police said the robbery occurred after one of the men asked the woman if she could contribute money to his March Madness pool, police said.

DARIEN, CT — Two men were arrested Monday afternoon after police say they robbed a woman who had just left the Whole Foods grocer store in Darien.
Corey Hampton, 18, of Queens, N.Y., and Jayden Lopez, also 18 and of the Bronx, N.Y., were both charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny, police said in a crime summary report. Additionally, Lopez was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.
On March 25 shortly before 4:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Whole Foods Market on Ledge Road on a report that a man had just forcibly taken money from a woman, police said.

The woman told police she exited Whole Foods and was approached by two men, police said, adding that one of the men asked if she could donate money to his "March Madness pool."
When she pulled out her wallet and exposed the cash inside, one of the men "aggressively pulled the cash" from her hands and ran towards the Post Road, police said.

Officers found two men who matched a description provided by the woman in the parking lot of a Post Road business, police said.
The men said they were coming from a grocery store and denied any involvement in the incident, according to police.
However, the woman positively identified Lopez and Hampton and they were arrested, police said.
A search of Lopez found a medium-sized fixed-blade sheath knife in his front jacket pocket, police said.
Both Lopez and Hampton were held on $30,000 bonds. They're scheduled to appear in court on April 5.
