Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I enjoy contributing to my community and feel this board best utilizes my skill set.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it.

It's impossible to identify one issue that can be considered the most pressing to all constituents. That said, I have increasing concerns about the effects inflation is having on residents living on a fixed income. As a result, I feel an increased responsibility to keep spending under control and minimize tax increases.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Our board brings a great breadth of experience and opinion to every discussion and challenge we face, and I believe our differences make us stronger as a group. Most of our decision-making is unanimous. Where we sometimes differ fundamentally is over the appropriate role of government.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have spent 7 years studying Darien's budget, services and operations. I will draw on that experience, as well as my background in finance, while continuing to learn more so I can contribute in a positive way to our town's financial well-being.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
