3 Residential Burglaries Reported In Darien: Police

The burglaries occurred in Darien from Nov. 10-12, according to police.

DARIEN, CT — Police said they are investigating three residential burglaries that occurred in Darien from Nov. 10-12.

On Nov. 10 shortly after 7 p.m., officers responded to a Fitch Avenue home on a report of a burglary. The homeowner told police she entered the home and noticed open drawers and doors, police said in a news release.

Police said a desk drawer was broken. In the bedroom, officers found a safe that had been dragged from the closet and forced open.

Police said a rear sliding door was pried open to gain access to the home. The homeowner told police the house was vacant from 12:30 p.m., to 7 p.m.

On Nov. 12 at 6:43 p.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm at a Buttonwood Lane residence, police said.

While on the scene, a property manager arrived and said the alarm was triggered in the laundry room, police noted.

Officers found a broken window lock and pieces of the window frame on the floor, police said.

While checking the upstairs of the residence, officers noticed "many closet doors and drawers open. A safe in the bedroom closet was also open," police said in a news release.

Also on Nov. 12 at 10:42 p.m., officers went to a home on Patton Drive on another burglary report.

"While on scene, officers determined that someone had entered the home through an unlocked upstairs bedroom window," police said in a news release.

The reporting party told police they were away from their home for several hours, and that all items were stolen from the main bedroom of the residence.
