3 Vehicles Reported Stolen In Darien: Police
Three Darien residents recently reported their vehicles stolen, according to police.

DARIEN, CT — Three vehicles were reported stolen from homes in Darien on the same day last week, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Dan Skoumbros said a 2010 blue Audi A4 was reported stolen a little after midnight on Nov. 3. The owner told officers the car was stolen sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 2 and and 12:21 a.m. on Nov. 3.
The vehicle had been unlocked with the keys left inside, Skoumbros said.

Early that same morning, officers investigating vehicle burglaries on Lake Drive found an ID belonging to a Fitch Avenue resident in the roadway. Officers contacted the resident who reported her 2018 black Volvo VX60 had been stolen, Skoumbros said.
The resident said her car was stolen between 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 2 and 1:54 a.m. on Nov. 3. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys left inside, Skoumbros said.

Volvo activated the tracking system and last tracked the vehicle in New Haven. The car was ultimately recovered in New Haven and processed by Darien detectives, Skoumbros said.
Later that morning, Darien police were contacted by the Madison Police Department regarding a suspicious motor vehicle call in their town in which a vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. After checking the license plate, officer determined it belonged to a Darien resident, Skoumbros said.
Officers confirmed with a Walmsley Road resident their 2021 green VW Atlas had been stolen from their driveway. The owner said the car was unlocked and both sets of keys were left inside the vehicle, Skoumbros said.
The stolen vehicle was later found in Derby and processed by Darien detectives, Skoumbros said.
