385 Grams Of Pot Seized, Alleged Darien Drug Dealer Arrested: PD

Darien police had been investigating the suspect for several weeks.

DARIEN, CT — A 26-year-old Darien man was arrested Wednesday after police raided his Raymond Street home and seized 385 grams of marijuana and other contraband with a street value of more than $16,000, according to authorities.

Darien police detectives had been investigating drug sales from the home for several weeks and identified the suspected dealer as Nicholas J. Torcia, who lives in the residence.

"The search yielded a substantial amount of evidence that Torcia was distributing marijuana, THC oil cartridges, and vaporizer devices," wrote Darien police in a statement. "During the search, specifically, 385 grams of Marijuana, 237 THC oil cartridges, and 12 vaporizers were located and seized. The estimated street value of the contraband recovered was over $16,000.00. [Additionally] $635.00 in cash was also seized."

Torcia was charged with the following:

  • 21a-277(c) - Operating a Drug Factory
  • 21a-279(b) - Possession of Marijuana Over 4 ounces (2 Counts)
  • 21a-277(b) - Possession of Marijuana With Intent To Sell

His bail was set at $50,000, which he was unable to post as of Wednesday night, and he remains in the custody of Darien police. He is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 12.
