4 Boaters Rescued In Long Island Sound By Darien Marine Police
The incident occurred Wednesday night near Shippan Point in Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT — Four boaters were safely pulled from the waters near Shippan Point in Stamford Wednesday night after their 18-foot outboard engine boat struck a rock and capsized, according to Darien police.
The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. when the Stamford Police Department contacted the
Darien police requesting assistance from the town’s Marine Division.
"Stamford PD had received a report of a capsized vessel with four people in the water off of Shippan Point in Stamford," wrote Darien police in a statement. "Darien PD Marine Unit 127 responded and was first on scene of the capsized vessel. Four parties were observed in the water approximately 100 yards off of Shippan Point.
Two of the parties were clinging to the capsized vessel. All four parties were safely taken aboard Darien-127."

No injuries were reported in the incident, but Stamford EMS personnel checked out all four boaters as a precaution.
The incident remains under investigation by the Stamford Police Marine Division.
