4 Car Burglaries Reported In Darien On 1 Day: Police

The car was unlocked each time, a news release from police shows.

DARIEN, CT — Four car burglaries were reported in Darien on Jan. 6, according to the Darien Police Department.

The incidents occurred within close proximity to each other, and each time, the car was unlocked, a news release from police shows.

On Jan. 6 just after 6 a.m., police responded to a home on Linden Avenue. A man told police his car was entered during the overnight hours and nothing was missing. A similar report was taken about an hour later from a man on Walmsley Road.

At 4:38 p.m., officers went to a home on Miles Road where a man told police his car had been entered during the overnight hours, and cash was missing.

A short time later, a man on Archer Lane told police the same, and that a wallet was missing from his car.

The incidents occurred days after a woman told police her car window was smashed and her purse was stolen on Jan. 3 in the parking lot of a Darien business in the 300 block of the Post Road, police said.

The woman said the theft occurred between 5:10 a.m., and 6 a.m., that day.
