4 Vehicle Burglaries, 1 House Burglary Reported In Darien: PD
The separate incidents were reported to police between Dec. 13 and Dec. 16.

DARIEN, CT — Darien police are investigating a home burglary and four vehicle burglaries that were reported to the department between Dec. 13 and Dec. 16, according to officials.
The home break in took place on Littlebrook Road and was reported on the 16th after the homeowner returned from a short trip.
"When [the homeowner] went to enter the home through the door from the garage, he noticed it was slightly ajar and a small drill-bit was in the keyhole of the lock," wrote Darien police in a statement. "The complainant stated he had been away for the weekend, but that his girlfriend had been home. The girlfriend stated she had last come in the evening prior at approximately 11pm, and there had been no drill bit in the door. The door had not been used since that time, and she had been home all day/night. Officers noted that no items had been taken in spite of the fact that several expensive tools and a set of golf clubs were in the garage."

In the second vehicle burglary, reported on the 14th, the homeowner startled the burglar while in the act of breaking into her SUV in front of a home on Intervale Road.
"Upon arrival, the complainant told officers that she had been watching TV when she observed her front motion-activated flood light go on," wrote police. "When she went to the window to see why, she observed a male in her vehicle. The male was described as white with a beard, wearing a black parka and scarf. The homeowner pounded on the window, causing the male to run away. The homeowner stated that nothing was missing from the vehicle. A check of the area was conducted with negative results."
The third vehicle break in was also reported on the 14th and took place on Park Lane.
"Complainant stated she observed footprints in the snow around her vehicle, and that it had been entered. The vehicle had been left unlocked overnight. The owner found the center console open, but nothing missing. A neighborhood canvass was conducted with negative results."
The final report, also on Park Lane on the 14th, involved an unlocked sedan. The owner found one of the vehicle's doors ajar and the dome light on, but nothing was reported missing.
