45th Annual Darien Boy Scouts Tag Sale This Weekend

DARIEN, CT — The 45th annual Darien Boy Scouts Tag Sale is scheduled for Sunday, May 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. - rain or shine - at the Andrew Shaw Memorial Scout Cabin located at 140 West Ave. in Darien.

Motorists not planning to attend the event are advised to avoid this area due to temporary road closures, which could cause moderate delays, according to Darien police.

"As in past years, the eastbound lane of West Avenue will once again be closed from Noroton Avenue to the Scout Cabin beginning at 7 a.m.," wrote police in a statement. "Detour signs will be posted to assist motorists in the area and officers will be stationed along the West Avenue corridor to assist with traffic and parking."

Police and organizers have found that this traffic plan works well, according to officials, and affords a measure of safety and effective traffic flow around the area of the Scout Cabin during the event.

"It is expected that full, two-way traffic will be restored on West Avenue by 6 p.m."
