46 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Within Darien Public Schools
The new cases were recorded from May 31 to June 9.
DARIEN, CT — According to the latest update, 46 new COVID-19 cases have been reported within Darien Public Schools from May 31 to June 9.
Over that period, there were 14 cases reported at Darien High School/Fitch Academy; 10 cases at Middlesex Middle School; seven at Holmes School; seven at Royle School; four at Hindley Elementary School; three at Ox Ridge School; and one at Tokeneke School.
Cases have trended downwards after an uptick in mid-April into May. The high for any update in 2022 was 276 cases from Jan. 3 to Jan. 10, according to the DPS COVID-19 dashboard.

Overall in the 2021-2022 school year, there have been 1,597 total cases reported.
First Selectman Monica McNally gave a brief update on COVID-19 in town during this week's board of selectmen meeting.

The weekly COVID-19 positivity rate in Darien as of May 31 was 17.84 percent, according to McNally, which mirrors numbers seen around the state. This is the highest percentage since January, she said.
"But fortunately, hospitalizations still remain low," McNally said.
