6 Teens Arrested, Accused Of Trespassing At Darien Residence: Police

DARIEN, CT — Six teenagers ranging in age from 14 to 17 were arrested in Darien on Sept. 25 after police said they trespassed at a residence that was under construction.

One of the teens had what appeared to be a gun in his waistband, but it was later determined to be a BB gun, police said.

All six had charges ranging from interfering, criminal trespass and carrying a firearm without a permit, police said. Their names are not being released due to their ages.

On Sept. 25 at 3:38 p.m., Darien police officers responded to a residence on Middlesex Road on a report of "an active residential burglary/trespassing incident," police said in a news release.

"The 3-11 shift received a report that '6 teens' could be seen remotely on video surveillance trespassing or possibly burglarizing a residence that was under construction. Officers arrived promptly to find that the individuals were still inside the residence," police added.

Two of the teens ran from the property and engaged officers two separate foot pursuits, police said. The teens were apprehended after a short distance.

The other four individuals were located and detained on-scene by officers, police said.

The teens were released to their parents at Darien Police Headquarters.
