8 Darien Students Recognized With 2024 Superintendent's Awards

The students were recognized during the Board of Education's meeting on Tuesday night.

DARIEN, CT — The recipients of this year's Superintendent's Awards were honored during the Darien Board of Education's regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday night.

Eight students from around the district were recognized. The awards, which align with Darien Public Schools' mission, are given to students each year who demonstrate a love of learning, critical thinking, innovation, creativity and a desire to contribute to the world with integrity and a purpose beyond themselves.

The 2024 recipients are:

  • Elle Mahoney, Hindley Elementary School
  • Divya Patel, Holmes Elementary School
  • Camila Davies, Ox Ridge Elementary School
  • Keane Cagampang, Royle Elementary School
  • Graydon Clariond, Tokeneke Elementary School
  • Arden Nehro, Middlesex Middle School
  • Gaurav Parwal, Darien High School
  • Amanda Smith, Darien High School

"To our recipients, we offer and extend our appreciation for all you do. You are the brightest and most caring students that we have. You represent many other students in the district," said DPS superintendent Dr. Allan Addley.

Each student was recognized by their school principal, and Addley presented them with their awards.

"[These are] some of the smartest kids you'll see, some of the most caring kids you'll see, and I have to say, some of the most stylish kids you'll see," Addley added, as the students were dressed fashionably to receive their awards.

Tuesday's Board of Education meeting was held at DPS administrative offices and broadcast via Darien TV79. The meeting can be watched on demand on Darien TV79.
