Additional Sexual Assault Charge For Accused Norwalk Man
The 27-year-old suspect, who was arrested on a sexual assault charge in October, was arrested again Wednesday on the same charge.
NORWALK, CT — A 27-year-old Norwalk man, who is already facing a sexual assault charge from October, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday charging him with an upgraded version of the same offense, according to Norwalk police.
Joan Michael Chacua, also known as Joan Chacua-Diaz, was arrested at his Cutrone Road home and charged with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. In October he was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury.
The new charges are related to the same investigation by the Norwalk Police Department's Special Victim’s Unit in which Chacua is accused of assaulting the same juvenile victim over multiple years, reports The Hour.

Chacua was released after posting bond on bail of $175,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 3.
