DARIEN, CT — A proposal involving significant site changes at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church, including an expansion of a local food pantry, is expected to go before the Planning & Zoning Commission next week.
The Planning & Zoning Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in Room 206 at Darien Town Hall, 2 Renshaw Road.
The commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on a special permit and site plan application for the church at 1864 Boston Post Road.
The proposal calls for construction of a new two-story addition to the Person to Person Food Pantry, relocation of the parish school playground, installation of a new sports court with lighting, and reconfiguration of the parking lot, along with accessibility improvements and other site work.
Also listed under public hearings is an application from the Connecticut Cross-Cultural Project Inc. to use an existing building at 2 Squab Lane as a nonprofit cultural social club and school focused on Russian, Ukrainian and Slavic communities.
The commission is additionally scheduled to review a coastal site plan and related applications for a property at 149 Five Mile River Road. The proposal includes residential additions, a plunge pool, retaining walls and stormwater management work within regulated areas.
Another public hearing item involves a land filling and regrading application at 77 Stanton Road for construction of a new pool and patio, along with associated site work.
Outside of the public hearing portion, the commission is scheduled to consider a request to modify previously approved plans for a property at 10 Hoyt Court.
