Andrew Coddington Stewart of Darien, Connecticut passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 1, 2026. He was 44 years old. His family and the many friends whose lives he touched will remember his kindness and his profound love for his children, Ryan and Ellie.
Andrew was born in New York City on February 24, 1982, to Lee Coddington Stewart and Elizabeth Cotter Stewart. He spent his childhood in Weston, Connecticut. He graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall, earned his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College, and received his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, with much of his time at all three schools spent on the soccer field.
Andrew’s career was in finance in New York, including roles at Ares Management and Goldman Sachs. He lived with his family in Darien, a community he loved deeply and in which he became fully involved. His Christian faith and commitment to helping others led him to St. Luke’s Parish, as well as to volunteer service with the Darien Volunteer Fire Department and the Darien Soccer Association.
He is survived by his children, Ryan and Ellie (Isabel), his brother James and his parents.
Friends and family who loved Andrew will never forget his enthusiasm for life, his sense of humor, his gentleness and his generosity. He will be remembered for his passion for travel—especially with his children—his love of soccer, and his devotion to his beloved New York sports teams.
A Memorial Service celebrating Andrew’s life will be held on Saturday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Darien, CT.
