DARIEN, CT — Darien High School swept the CIAC Class LL titles over the weekend, with both the boys and girls teams defeating New Canaan.
The girls' team capped off an undefeated season of 22-0 by beating the Rams on Saturday 13-4 to mark their second straight CIAC title.
Captain Cameron Pokorny scored four goals, Adriana Gromelski and Morgan Hite each scored three, captain Anna Von Kennel scored two, and Guiliana Franchetti scored one.
The boys' team beat the Rams on Sunday at Fairfield University by a score of 10-9.
Sunday's victory represented the team's first CIAC title since 2019.
Darien was led by senior captain Wes Scallen, who scored four goals, including the final goal to make the score 10-8.
Bruce Hopkins tallied three goals, captain Ryan Thurlow scored two, and Chase Lane chipped in with a score for the Blue Wave.
