DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department is accepting applications for its fall 2026 internship program, offering college students an opportunity to gain experience in law enforcement while earning college credit.
The internship is designed to provide firsthand experience in a professional law enforcement environment.
Interns may have the opportunity to learn about patrol operations, traffic safety and enforcement, criminal investigations, records and evidence management, communications and dispatch, the Marine Division, depending on seasonal availability, animal control and administrative functions.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, be in good academic standing, receive approval from their college or university to earn internship credit and successfully complete a background investigation. Preference will be given to Darien residents.
Applications must include a Darien police internship application, an updated resume, a personal statement and a verification letter from the applicant's college internship coordinator.
The application deadline for the fall semester is Aug. 21.
