DARIEN, CT — Darien's Good Wife's River Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, in partnership with the American Battlefield Trust and the Mather Homestead, will host a nationally touring exhibition in August.
"The American Revolution Experience" will run from Aug. 3 through Aug. 8 at the Elizabeth Chilton Education Center, also known as The Barn, at 19 Stephen Mather Road.
Hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., except for Aug. 8, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The innovative pop-up exhibition will include display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of the nation, according to the event description.
A wine and cheese reception and preview is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. Advance tickets are required for the event.
A Kids Night is scheduled for Aug. 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will include bingo, games and ice cream.
According to the announcement, the Darien exhibit is one of two Connecticut stops on the national tour this summer.
