DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department said it is investigating several reported overnight motor vehicle burglaries that occurred in the area of Five Mile River Road, Glenwood Drive and Salt Box Lane during the morning hours of July 23.
According to police, residents reported vehicle doors left ajar, glove boxes/center consoles rummaged through, generally with no forced entry, and in several cases nothing reported missing.
A victim reported a garage door remote was stolen from a vehicle, and in another, a backpack containing a passport and cash was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Darien Police Department.
Police are reminding residents to lock vehicles, remove valuables, and never leave wallets, keys or key fobs, cash, or important documents inside unattended vehicles.
