DARIEN, CT — The Town of Darien is warning residents about a phone scam in which the caller is posing as the chief of police.
Residents have reported receiving a phone call from the Darien police chief demanding payment for a warrant for their arrest because they missed a court date, according to the town.
No legitimate law enforcement official will ever reach out and ask for payment over the phone.
Residents are encouraged to call the Darien Police Department's non-emergency number at 203-662-5300 to report a scam
