DARIEN, CT — Darien residents interested in serving in town government will have an opportunity to seek election to the Representative Town Meeting, with more than 50 seats expected to be on the ballot in the Nov. 3, 2026, election, according to the town.
The RTM serves as Darien's legislative body. RTM members represent their voting districts on matters including the town budget and the approval of ordinances.
According to the town, individuals who are not incumbent RTM members can qualify for the ballot by running as petitioning candidates.
To become a candidate, applicants must print a ballot application from the town website and collect 25 signatures from registered electors in their voting district.
The application deadline is Sept. 1.
