DARIEN, CT — A Connecticut man was arrested last week and charged in connection with a stolen vehicle from Darien after police say DNA evidence linked him to the theft.
Jobany Luciano, 20, of New Britain, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle (first offense) and second-degree criminal trover.
On June 15, 2025, at approximately 11:18 a.m., Darien police responded to a report of a stolen 2021 Mercedes-Benz SUV from a home on Pear Tree Point Road.
The victim reported the vehicle was left unlocked with the key fob inside, police said. The SUV was recovered on June 15 in New Britain, where it was towed for evidence processing.
Police collected fingerprint and DNA evidence, which later produced a match and identified Luciano as a suspect, police said.
Luciano was arrested on Aug. 11 and given a court-set bond of $50,000, which he was unable to postAccording to the CT Judicial Branch website, Luciano remains in custody. He faces numerous charges out of New Britain and Hartford related to larcenies, burglaries and vehicle thefts.
