DARIEN, CT — The Darien Board of Education is scheduled Tuesday to review the district's year-end finances and proposed budget transfers while also receiving updates on enrollment, facilities, special education and other areas ahead of the 2026-27 school year.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Darien Public Schools Administrative Office. The meeting will be open to the public in person and available to watch on YouTube. Public comment periods are listed near the beginning and end of the agenda.
The June 2026 and year-end financial report and proposed budget transfers are included on the board's consent agenda.
The board is also scheduled to receive a summer recap presentation covering curriculum and instruction, special education and student services, facilities, human resources and enrollment. The presentation is listed under presentations, discussions and possible action.
Board members are expected to discuss and may take action on their goals for the 2026-27 school year.
Other items on the consent agenda include the district's 2026-2031 Strategic Plan, the proposed schedule of 2027 regular Board of Education meetings and 2026-27 subcommittee meetings, and the appointment of an impartial hearing officer for student disciplinary matters, expulsion expungement requests and school accommodation appeals, including transportation appeals.
The board is also scheduled to consider accepting a contemplated gift of library furniture for Tokeneke Elementary School and review a personnel report.
