DARIEN, CT — The Town of Darien has announced it will pave the lower parking lots of town hall next month.
Milling and preparatory work is set to take place on Friday, Oct. 9, followed by paving on Monday, Oct. 12.
"This schedule has been chosen to minimize disruption and scheduled programming at the Darien Town Hall, field, and Mather Center. Schedule is weather dependent," a notice on the Town of Darien website says.
Preparatory work will include milling - or removal of existing paving surface - and sweeping.
Milled surfaces are rough, and residents walking in the area should be mindful of the surface.
Parking in the work area will be suspended on the days of milling and paving.
The work area will also feature raised structures, such as manholes and catch basins. Emergency access will remain available.
Parking for town hall, the sports field, and the Mather Center can be found on Renshaw Road and other parking areas of on town hall property.
Parking lot pavement markings will be restored as soon as practical, the town noted.
