DARIEN, CT — A New York man was arrested last week and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a minor in Darien, according to police.
Daniel Ceglio, 43, of West Harrison, N.Y., was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor in a public street/highway, illegal sexual contact with a victim under the age of 16, and second-degree sexual assault, according to an arrest report.
On July 28, Darien police officers took a report of an assault involving a juvenile victim that occurred on July 9, police said in an arrest report.
Following an investigation, Darien detectives secured an arrest warrant Ceglio, who was apprehended by the White Plains (NY) Police Department on Oct. 16.
Ceglio was brought back to Darien on Oct. 21 where he was processed and charged.
Police said Ceglio was unable to post a court-set bond of $150,000. He's scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 6.
"Due to the sensitive nature of the case and the victim's age, no further information will be released at this time," police said.
