Maplewood Senior Living, an operator of assisted living and memory care communities in Connecticut, is pleased to announce the addition of Jeanette Perlman, M.S., Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, as Executive Director of the future Maplewood Senior Living in Darien.

Perlman is already working collaboratively with senior executives at the other Maplewood communities to ensure a successful and seamless start when the doors at the Darien location open next summer. The 51,000-square-foot Maplewood at Darien—located at the intersection of Boston Post Road and Brookside Avenue—will offer 29 assisted living apartments and 37 memory care and dementia apartments.
“I’m excited to be a part of this community from its very first breath,” says Perlman. “My staff and I look forward to providing the specialized and personalized care that Maplewood is known for to the future Darien residents, along with their families.”

More than 5.4 million people are living with Alzheimer’s disease, with a new case developing every 69 seconds, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. In Connecticut alone, there were 70,000 people reported in 2010, aged 65 and older with Alzheimer’s disease.
As a member of the board at the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut, Maplewood’s Smith has made it a personal as well as a professional mission to provide the best residences and quality of care to those living with memory impairment.
To that end, each Maplewood Senior Living community is created uniquely for its set of residents. Locally owned and operated, Maplewood Senior Living takes its inspiration from the local communities it serves. Each of its communities is purposely designed to have a distinct look, feel and personality. Maplewood believes that by thinking and acting locally, it help foster a lifestyle that’s healthier, more meaningful and closer to home.
Maplewood Senior Living in Darien is undergoing a $10 million dollar renovation to transform a former nursing home into an assisted living and memory care community.
