Signature Group, a full service commercial real estate firm, announced that it has negotiated a lease for 7,078 square feet of office space at Station Place, 20 West Ave., across from the Darien Railroad Station, for the corporate headquarters of Genesee & Wyoming Inc.
Genessee & Wyoming is an NYSE-listed owner and operator of short line and regional freight railroads in the United States, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Genesee & Wyoming plans to occupy the space in early 2013 and is moving from its current location in Greenwich. Signature Group president Bob Gillon represented the property owners, Darien Station Associates. Ned Burns of C.B. Richard Ellis represented Genesee & Wyoming.

Genesee & Wyoming is the second tenant for Station Place since Signature Group helped the owners reposition the 18,000 square foot property from a bank/office building to a mixed-use retail/office concept to meet the growing needs of both businesses and consumers for conveniently located services. It is strategically located across from the Darien Metro North station and adjacent to Tilley Pond Park. Earlier this year, Lanphier Salon and Day Spa moved into an 8,000 square foot space in the building from another location in Darien.
