Baby Formula Stolen at Darien Stop and Shop

Police are working to identify the suspected thief.

DARIEN, CT- A woman stole $129 worth of baby formula at the Old Kings Highway North Stop and Shop, police said.

A woman called the store May 16 and asked if they had a certain type of formula in stock. An employee said they did and put it aside for the woman.

The woman is either white or Hispanic and in her 30's or 40's, police said. She had black hair, a black jacket, black pants, black shoes and carried a black and white striped handbag. She arrived and left in a black taxi.

The woman arrived and went to the customer service desk to pick up the formula. Her card was only authorized for $6.94. She told an employee that she would call her bank to find out what was wrong.

At that time one employee took over for another an the woman left without paying the full balance, police said.
