Babysitter Accused Of Making Unauthorized Purchases, Stealing From Darien Resident: PD
Police said a Stamford woman is accused of stealing over $19,000 worth of property and making unauthorized purchases of nearly $16,000.

DARIEN, CT — A 27-year-old woman and former babysitter was arrested last week and accused of making unauthorized credit card purchases and stealing thousands of dollars worth of property from a woman she worked for in Darien, according to police.
Brigid Stanley, of Stamford, turned herself in on Sept. 5 on an arrest warrant that charges her with first-degree larceny, illegal taking of a payment card, spending greater than $500 on a revoked payment card, first-degree identity theft and third-degree forgery, her arrest report shows.
On July 30, a Darien woman reported her babysitter, Stanley, to police and accused her of stealing, police said.

"Stanley, employed through care.com from June 10th to July 31st, allegedly stole personal property worth $19,546.54 and made unauthorized charges totaling $15,890.61 on the victim's credit cards," police said in an arrest report.
Care.com is an online marketplace for families to find child care and other care services.

Stanley was able to post a $55,000 bond, police said. She's scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 25.
